Night Blindness by Susan Strecker

Night BlindnessJensen Reilly lost her brother in a tragic accident when she was 16 years old. As soon as she graduates high school, she elopes and moves halfway across the country to get away from her past.

For the last 13 years she has been drifting through life with her husband. When her beloved father is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, Jensen knows that she must return to her childhood home to confront her past and be there for her father.

Soon after arriving home she runs into her high school sweetheart. The sparks are still there, but she is determined to keep him at a distance. Confused about what she wants out of her life, dealing with an absent husband, and trying to take care of her father, Jensen is pushed to her limits. She knows the only way that she can move on with her life is to come clean about what really happened to her brother and face the consequences no matter what they may be.

I loved the characters and the family in this book. The story was very moving and the suspense kept going right to the very end. I really could not guess what the outcome of this novel was going to be and that’s the way I like it.
